Job Description:

UF Information Technology (UFIT) is
seeking an entry level Web Designer I to join Web Services in the Center for Instructional Technology & Training (CITT), Academic
Technology, a unit within UFIT.

The Web Designer designs and builds web pages (including user interface features) that may include
interactive element and high levels of usability using current technologies. This position works closely with the team to identify user
requirements, web architecture, and project scope. The Web Designer will ensure that materials on the web site comply with industry
guidelines and that the materials are accessible to all groups, including those with disabilities.

We are seeking applicants with
diverse perspectives and an ability to create visually appealing web designs using HTML and CSS that are ADA WCAG 2.0 compliant. Knowledge
of web design industry tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, etc. as a design practice is expected. The candidate must be a quick learner with the
ability to apply UF’s digital standards and knowledge of web accessibility standards is a plus. Excellent customer service skills are
required.

  • Supporting customers in a web content management system such as
    TERMINALFOUR or WordPress
  • Collaborating with peers to design and implement user driven web accessible templates and interfaces for
    ease of use

Benefits

Full-time TEAMS employees will accrue vacation leave at a rate of 6.769 hours biweekly/22 days annually and sick leave at a rate of
4 hours biweekly/13 days annually. In addition, employees are eligible for ten paid holidays each year.

Vacation accruing TEAMS
employees are eligible for four personal leave days/32 hours per year, assuming full-time status, and are intended to give the flexibility
to enable units to close from December 26 to 31 when possible, determined on a unit-by-unit basis.

Expected Salary:
$45,600 – $50,000; commensurate based on education and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree; or an associate’s degree and two years of appropriate experience.

Appropriate college coursework or
vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience but does not negate the
minimum degree requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following experience and
skills:

  • Strong understanding of developing website architecture and web development
  • Experienced using current operating
    system platforms and/or web content management system such as WordPress Multisite and TERMINALFOUR
  • Firm understanding and ability
    to implement and develop websites in HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript or other web application languages
  • Attention to detail with strong
    customer service experience

This role will be based in one of our Gainesville offices and may include a hybrid schedule of 3 days in the office (Wednesday
required), and 2 days remote.
