Clinical Assistant Professor Position
Position Summary
The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Oklahoma State University is seeking applicants for two full-time Clinical Assistant Professor positions. Both the positions have an anticipated start date of August 2024. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include supervising and mentoring graduate and undergraduate students in clinical settings, ensuring the integration of evidence-based practices, and promoting excellence in clinical skills. The faculty members will be expected to contribute to departmental and university service through committee work and participation in professional organizations. Other duties will be assigned as required.
Minimum Job Requirements
The candidate should present: 1) CCC-SLP; 2) Earned doctorate, ABD, or Master’s degree; 3) at least two years of full-time practice experience; and 3) eligibility for Oklahoma licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist. The successful candidate will be required to complete a minimum of 2 hours of professional development in the area of supervision/clinical instruction prior to the start of the position as per the ASHA requirements.
Preferred qualifications:
Expertise with infant, toddler and preschool age children and prior experience in supervising students’ clinical practicum at a Speech-Language Pathology academic program are preferable but not required. Prior experience with online or hybrid service delivery is also preferred.
About the department:
The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders has seven full-time tenure-track faculty, and four full-time clinical faculty as well as a couple of adjunct clinical faculty. The department’s clinic operates year-round and serves over 300 clients with speech and language disorders who come from Stillwater and the surrounding area. Academic programs comprise an undergraduate B.S., a postbaccalaureate certificate, a minor in Communication Sciences and Disorders, and a graduate M.S. The department has a diverse student body that includes about 250 undergraduate students and 70 graduate students.
OSU-Stillwater is the flagship campus of the OSU system. Stillwater is a pleasant city with a population close to 50,000. It is in the north-central part of Oklahoma, about 70 miles from Oklahoma City and Tulsa. Stillwater public schools are rated among the best in Oklahoma and the city offers an affordable housing market.
