Job Summary

The Admissions Department of Jefferson Community and Technical College is
seeking a highly motivated professional with a positive attitude to join our team and contribute to providing an open door to higher
education in a welcoming and inclusive environment. The ideal candidate for the Processing and Communications Specialist must be a team
player, one who takes initiative and is experienced with fast-paced work. This role requires attention to detail and technical abilities as
well as a passion for helping people.

Job Duties:
* Assist with admissions processing functions including
admissions applications, high school transcripts, visiting student letters, college transcripts and other incoming documentation.
* Serve
as a processing trainer.
* Coordinate daily communications with applicants through mail, email, telephone, text and in-person regarding
admissions requirements.
* Assist with reviewing reports and internal auditing for quality improvements as needed.
* Streamline and
maintain all departmental communications including correspondence and website content.
* Complete weekly acceptance letter process to
notify students of their status.
* Serve as team building lead in the office, helping to plan office training and professional
development opportunities.
* Assist with tasks such as researching and resolving tickets escalated by the student services center and
running queries.
* Develop and maintain interdepartmental relationships to foster collaboration, including cross-training opportunities
to improve processes for students and staff.
* Assist with hiring, training, and supervision of student workers.
* Serve on a
Selective Admissions Committee.
* Participate in special events and high school visits as needed.
* All staff must be prepared to
cover front desk responsibilities and travel to other Jefferson campus locations as needed.
* Other duties to support the department may
be assigned as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
* An associate’s degree and three years related experience, or
equivalent are required.

Preferred Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree and 3 years related experience.
Preference will be given to individuals with a background in customer service and who demonstrate strong written communication skills.

Some travel may be required.

Additional Skills Requested:
* Polished professional with an outgoing
personality and positive attitude, team player and comfortable with change and fast paced work.
* High level of proficiency with general
office PC applications (i.e. MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, MS PowerPoint) and comfort with learning new applications as required.

* Proven job diligence, dedication, and attention to
detail
* Comfort and experience interfacing with various levels of staff and management, while working in a fast-paced environment.

employees, and vendors

This position requires the ability to work in a culturally diverse environment, which consists of frequent
contact with a diverse constituency of students, faculty, staff, and the public.
