OPS Computational Assistant
Job Description:
The
computational assistant will work in the Gerber Biogeochemistry lab and collaborate with the UF Computing research team to port the
Department of Energy’s Exascale Earth System model to be run on HiPerGator.
Expected hours: 15 – 20 / week for the duration of 6 to
8 months.
Work can be done remotely, with in-person check in 2x/week.
Expected Salary:
$16 – $20/hour, commensurate
with experience
Minimum Requirements:
None
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong motivation to acquire new skill.
Tenacity to solve problems.
Linux scripting (bash, csh, others)
Python
FORTRAN computer language
Working with large
data sets
Parallel computing
Experience with HiPerGator/UF research computing
Earth system modeling and/or understanding of solving
predictive equation on a grid
