About the Department
The IT Services Solution Development group provides services across a large portfolio of cutting-edge enterprise applications for business administration, teaching and learning and is responsible for the delivery, management and technical support of these applications.
About the Role
The Business & Library Systems team is seeking a talented Business & Library Systems Analyst/Developer to provide second-line support, maintenance and enhancement services for the University’s business and library applications. As a key member of the Business & Library Systems team, you will be instrumental in ensuring the overall design of mission-critical enterprise applications and ensuring they are delivered effectively, reliably and efficiently.
About You
You will need to have extensive experience in the support and maintenance of business applications, with knowledge of library systems being essential. Furthermore, you should have experience of successful identification, diagnosis, management and resolution of application problems.
Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) or be able to demonstrate significant experience in technical support. Robust skills and experience in the following areas are essential unless otherwise stated:
- Ability to create clear system, support and process documentation.
- Ability to work collaboratively with customers, vendors and departmental colleagues.
- Creating and maintaining interfaces between different corporate systems.
- Ability to provide training and create relevant documentation.
- Good problem-solving skills and most importantly a desire and willingness to learn.
- Communication.
- Proficient technical knowledge and practical experience in Library systems.
- Be a self-motivated team member who is able to challenge and influence others in the provision of innovative and cost-effective solutions.
- High level, proven interpersonal and communication skills and have the ability to recognise and pass on knowledge to others.
