Adjunct Professor of
Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences (Voice Disorders Specialist)

Position Summary:

The Department of Communication Sciences
and Disorders at LIU Brooklyn invites applications for an Adjunct Professor with a specialization in voice disorders. The ideal candidate
will possess significant teaching experience in higher education for pre-service speech therapy clinicians, with a particular focus on the
management and treatment of voice disorders in the transgender population. This adjunct role involves teaching a graduate-level voice
disorders course with the possibility of engaging in additional clinical and research responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and instruct a graduate-level course on voice disorders, ensuring the curriculum is up-to-date, evidence-based, and
    reflective of the needs of diverse populations, including the transgender community.
  • Collaborate with the program director on
    accreditation reporting, providing essential input on academic and clinical curricular activities related to voice disorders, and student
    success

Qualifications:

  • A PhD in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Sciences and Disorders, or a related
    field.
  • Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Demonstrated expertise
    in the assessment and treatment of voice disorders, with a particular emphasis on experience with the transgender population.
  • A
    proven track record of effective teaching at the graduate level in speech pathology.
  • Clinical experience across various settings,
    with a strong ability to translate clinical skills into effective teaching and supervision.
  • Exceptional communication and
    interpersonal skills, with a commitment to fostering an inclusive and engaging educational environment.
  • A dedication to advancing
    the field through high-quality, clinically relevant teaching and learning for pre-service clinicians.

Salary: $1,000-$1,350
per credit
