Mission is located on the unceded, ancestral, and shared territory of the Stó:lō Peoples, specifically on Leq’á:mel, Semá:th, Máthexwi, Kwantlen, Sq’éwlets, and Katzie traditional territories in the lower mainland of BC. Nestled on the southern coastal mountain slopes overlooking the lush Fraser River Valley, Mission is a rapidly growing and dynamic community of approximately 41,500 residents, 20 kilometers north of the US border and 70 kilometers east of Vancouver. Job Description
Our Finance Department is seeking a precise, industrious professional to join their team on a full-time basis. Specifically, you will work in the area of accounts receivable alongside processing all types of cash receipting and balancing of payments; process homeowner grants; balance a variety of financial records and ledgers; maintain the property master file tax records; calculate property tax and utility balances; and respond to a variety of customer inquiries among other duties.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate must have high school graduation supplemented by completion of a recognized Certificate in an Accounting discipline, along with two years’ experience in a municipal finance office environment, including experience in accounts receivable and cash receipting functions, subsidiary ledgers, account reconciliation and analysis up to and including trial balance level.

Along with your considerable knowledge of the principles, procedures, policies and regulations applicable to professional accounting practices, you must be self-motivated and task-orientated with advanced proficiency in MS Office, MAIS, Tempest, Unit 4, or similar financial software and have knowledge of EDP systems and procedures. 

Additional Information
The January 1, 2024 rate of pay for this position is $36.57 per hour plus a comprehensive benefits package including the Municipal Pension Plan. We offer a nine-day fortnight schedule (extended hours for nine days and one day off every two weeks).
