Job Description


Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences – Department of Social Sciences, Institute of Political Science – invites applications to fill the

Endowed Professorship in Comparative Social Policy and Migration Research (W3) to start on October 1, 2024.

The post holder should possess a robust background in conducting social-scientific analyses concerning the social rights of migrants. Additionally, they should have a proven track record in systematically examining the intricate interplay between migration and social policy, as well as the reciprocal influence of social policy on migration policy, within the context of policy development. Highly valued for this role is experience in forging international academic networks and engaging in interdisciplinary collaborations. Furthermore, a commitment to incorporating gender and diversity research into their work is also highly desirable. The individual is expected to provide extensive breadth of the topic both in research and teaching. They will actively engage in academic administrative tasks, and contribute to political science and interdisciplinary research ventures both within and beyond the institute or faculty.

Required qualifications include a PhD or equivalent international degree as well as postdoctoral qualifications and teaching experience equivalent to the requirements of a full professorship.
