Job Description
To prepare tables for meals, including setting up items such as linens, silverware, and glassware.
To escort guests to their table, present menus and attend enquiries about menu, making recommendations upon request, inform daily specials.
To take orders, memorize orders, and enter orders into computers for transmittal to kitchen staff.
To explain how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods.
To serve food and/or beverages to customers; prepare and serve specialty dishes at tables as required.
To check with customers to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems.
To remove dishes and glasses from tables or counters and take them to kitchen for cleaning.
To collect payments from customers.
To clean tables and/or counters after customers have finished dining.
To stock service areas with supplies such as tableware, and linens.
To fill salt, pepper, sugar, cream, condiment, and napkin containers.
