Job Description:

Salary: $31.00 to $33.00 hourly (To be negotiated) 37.5 to 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Edmonton, AB 
Transportation information: Valid driver’s licence, Own vehicle
Work setting: General law practice, Criminal law, Litigation, Property and real estate law, Real estate
Supervision: 1 to 2 people

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as bachelor’s degree
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 2 to less than 3 years’
Computer and technology knowledge: PCLaw in the Cloud, MS Word, Electronic mail, MS Access, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, MS Windows, Adobe Acrobat Reader, Quick Books, MS Office
Area of work experience: Contracts, Correspondence, Financial statements, Invoices, Reports and records, Civil litigation
Security and safety: Criminal record check

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to work effectively under pressure
  • The candidates should be accustomed to working within tight deadlines
  • The candidates should exhibit a high level of attention to detail in their work
  • The candidates should be experienced in managing a large caseload efficiently

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should be accurate, client focus, dependable, organized, and reliable
  • The candidates should have excellent oral communication, excellent written communication, efficient interpersonal skills, and be able to work as a team player

Candidate Status:

  • Canadian citizen and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position.
  • International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to schedule and confirm appointments and maintain a filing system
  • The candidates should be able to record and prepare minutes of court sessions, meetings, or conferences, determine and establish office procedures and routines, and arrange travel, related itineraries, and make reservations
  • The candidates should be able to open and distribute regular and electronic incoming mail and other material, coordinate the flow of information, prepare and key in correspondence and legal documents, and review and proofread documents and correspondence to ensure compliance with legal procedures and grammatical usage
