An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Careers and Placements department at Aston University as a Digital Engagement Officer. At Aston, employability is a key to our strategy, and the Careers and Placements department is a vital part of delivering on this. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to engage and inspire our students, making a real difference to their employability, both during and after their time at Aston.
Reporting to the Student Engagement Manager, you will be responsible for much of the department’s digital content creation, including the creation of videos and podcast episodes. In addition, you will be responsible for maintaining and creating content for our website, intranet and blog, using your knowledge of best practices in these areas to drive improved user experience and engagement. While this role does not manage our social media channels, you will be expected to collaborate with our social media lead and the wider team to support content creation for our social media platforms.
You will have the opportunity to innovate and create in the digital space, with support, training and relevant equipment provided to help you succeed in the role. The role is based on a hybrid model of working on campus and from home.
We are looking for an individual who is passionate about digital content and is clued up on the latest digital trends. You should have a track record in content creation for digital channels, exceptional communication skills, as well as a positive, flexible attitude with a desire to learn. You will be expected to use creative and innovative ideas, working alongside a team to work towards increasing student engagement with our services.
