What we want
The Global Engagement Communications Coordinator, under general supervision, is accountable for developing and delivering effective and efficient marketing and communications support for Global Engagement, which includes Education Abroad, International Student & Scholar Services, and Global Services. The Communications Coordinator will support communications with students, faculty and staff, as well as help elevate the Texas A&M brand by telling the story of the university’s impact on the world. The ideal candidate will be a storyteller, adept at telling stories and leveraging user-generated content.

What you need to know
Salary: Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire’s experience.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Three years of Communications related experience

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to present information clearly and concisely

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in social media strategy and leveraging user-generated content, as well as developing original, engaging content
  • Knowledge of survey tools (i.e. Qualtrics, survey monkey, google forms), media databases (i.e. Cision, Meltwater, etc.), website management tools (i.e. WordPress, Cascade, Kentico)

Essential Duties/Tasks

  • Coordinates the communication and branding strategies, annual marketing/communications plan, public relations, and communication plans and timelines
  • Oversees the creation of and updating of creative assets to market services provided by the department
  • Oversees and coordinates website content, maintenance, and media strategy
  • Develops content and strategy for social media engagement
  • Writes and distributes press releases for news outlets
  • Maintains relationships with clients, media, stakeholders and prospective clients
