Our recently restructured Human Resources and Organisational Development (HROD) Department will play a key role in supporting the development and implementation of our evolving People Strategy which will enable the delivery of the Aston 2030 strategy.

The Head of Policy and Partnering is an exciting new role created as part of the restructure of the HROD function.

This is a critical role to lead the delivery of direct HR Partnering services and support across academic and professional services departments at Aston University, and the development of resilient and best policy, practice and compliance in the HROD Department.

The postholder will work closely with the Chief People Officer and Deputy Chief People Officer in the operationalisation of relevant areas of our new People strategy; specifically those linked to supporting leaders and managers to deliver on their people related responsibilities, focusing on creating a culture of high performance, tackling poor performance and building capabilities and confidence. They will work as part of the HROD senior team to develop institutional confidence with HR processes, ensuring equitable, inclusive and consistent processes across all parts of Aston.

We are seeking an experienced practitioner, with demonstrable experience of managing complex casework within a unionised environment, coupled with leadership experience of HR teams. You will be adept at building relationships with key stakeholders and have a customer and results focused approach to operationalising strategy.
