Are you an experienced communications professional looking for new challenges and creative opportunities? Join the Communications Department at the City of Kelowna, where you will support City-led projects and programs that deliver services to citizens and advance our community vision.
A Communications Advisor leads communications and community engagement on projects that advance the City’s strategic priorities. You will engage your strong writing, research and interpersonal skills to develop and implement communication plans, public participation strategies and public awareness campaigns. As a creative communicator with both tactical and strategic experience, you can move seamlessly from defining goals, to analyzing audiences and risks, to creating the in-market collateral for a variety of channels. Flexibility to balance priorities and multiple projects is critical, as you will have multiple business partners you support in your portfolio.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a university degree in Communications or Public Relations and at least four years of related employment experience that includes strategic and collaborative communications projects, media relations, issues management and social media. Experience with web content management, design software and digital engagement tools will be preferred.
