Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or Intermediate or a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in project management and supply chain management
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be experienced in managing activities associated with procurement functions, including planning, developing product standards and specifications, tendering, evaluating, and awarding contracts
- The candidates should possess a professional designation or certification in a supply chain management organization (for example, PMAC, NIGP, or ISM) and have knowledge of current contracting and procurement methodologies and practices
- The candidates should demonstrate the ability to provide advice and recommendations on procurement issues and excel in building and maintaining relationships with various stakeholders
- The candidates should have experience in managing conflicting and competing priorities and experience working with MS Office
- The candidates should exhibit strong communication and interpersonal skills and possess the ability to work independently and as a contributing team member
- The candidates should demonstrate effective negotiation and collaboration skills and have analytical and research skills
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to provide expertise and support in the areas of acquisition, contracting, and procurement planning for goods and transportation services
- The candidates should be able to understand and explain the Government of Yukon’s procurement policy and contracting processes to both internal clients and external vendors
- The candidates should be able to apply knowledge of current contracting and procurement methodologies and practices, coupled with experience in building strong business relationships with stakeholders and internal clients
- The candidates should be able to demonstrate effective communication skills and a commitment to finding the best value for clients
