Position Highlights

The R. Ken Coit College of Pharmacy at the University of Arizona is seeking an experienced, creative, strategic communications professional to serve as the Communications Manager, responsible for supporting all College of Pharmacy departments, centers, programs, and students. The Communications Manager will be responsible for planning and executing internal and external marketing and communications strategies to help the College of Pharmacy advance its vision, prominently position the College, and reach the College’s goals. As the Communications Manager, this individual will be a member of the Dean’s communication efforts in a highly interactive and collaborative team environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work effectively with college staff, UA Health Sciences marketing and communications staff, the media, internal and external stakeholders, and the public through online engagement, social media, and other appropriate communication channels.
  • Oversees all communication strategies and programs including internal and external communications, advertising, marketing, media relations, government affairs, and alumni relations.
  • Develop and implement marketing campaigns as needed by College of Pharmacy units to prominently position the college and achieve stated goals.
  • Oversee, develop, implement, and evaluate the College’s strategic communications plan.
  • Maintain, continuously innovate, and regularly evaluate the College’s website and social media.
  • Develop and create messages, articles, announcements, newsletters, marketing materials, brochures, graphics, invitations, publications, white papers, talking points, and scripts while following UA and UAHS brand guidelines.
  • Provide event support, marketing outreach, graphic design, photography, and communications strategy support. This position is the contact for the College of Pharmacy media outreach.
  • Manage Pharm Talks Program.
  • Serve as a member of the College’s Senior Leadership Team.
  • Develops communications policies and advertising programs, manages College of Pharmacy website and college directory, and manages public relations issues.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required. 
  • Minimum of 5 years of related work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of managerial experience.
