Requirements:

Experience: Candidates should have previous working experience with the elderly in long-term care or a senior living environment is considered an asset
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have the ability to work a schedule of flexible hours
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be registered with the provincial Practical Nursing regulatory body
- The candidates should possess a valid CPR & First Aid Certification
- The candidates should have a clear criminal record with vulnerable sector screening
- The candidates should have completed any previous course in Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care, which would be a significant asset
- The candidates should demonstrate a passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services, and care
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, document, and direct resident needs through consultation with medical professionals, care conferences, and internal staff
- The candidates should provide leadership to health services staff and oversee the provision of quality health services, respecting the client’s right to individualized planning of health services
- The candidates should work with the existing management and health services teams to promote communication and compliance with policies and procedures
- The candidates should be able to administer and record prescribed medication as per company policy and scope of practice
- The candidates should maintain the standards of accurate and complete documentation and reporting
- The candidates should apply dressings and treatments according to physician’s orders and policy
- The candidates should assist with supervision and evaluation of job performance and behavior of other health care staff
