Job Summary

  • As a Wireless Engineer/Technician, you will be responsible for the design and implementation of wireless communication networks with an emphasis on ensuring high-quality performance standards as well as customer satisfaction.
  • You have to work together with cross-functional teams on implementing and troubleshooting wireless infrastructure and resolving connectivity problems.

Responsibilities:

Wireless Network Design and Planning:

  • Perform site surveys to check the suitability of wireless installations.
  • Determine wireless network topology that fulfils the coverage, capacity, and performance needs.
  • Collaborate closely with the network engineering team to develop wired solutions seamlessly integrated into your current infrastructure.

Wireless Infrastructure Deployment:

  • Install, configure and fine-tune wireless devices such as access points; and antennas among other related hardware. Install wireless backhaul connections using point-to-point and multipoint links.
  • Make sure that the equipment is aligned and has sufficient signal strength for best results.

Network Monitoring and Troubleshooting:

  • Effective use of monitoring tools to proactively detect and remediate network problems.
  • Perform periodic performance assessments and fix connection issues.
  • Work together with the support team to address reported wireless issues promptly.

Security Implementation:

  • Ensure that security protocols and measures are carried out to protect the wireless network from intruders as well as prevent cyber threats.
  • Ensure that the wireless devices are updated and patched periodically to remediate vulnerabilities.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Keep up-to-date records on wireless network settings, implementations and updates.
  • Create reports on the network’s performance, downtimes and maintenance exercises.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work with cross-functional teams such as network engineers, support staff and management to realize the common goals.
  • Establish a connection with the customers to know what they want and how we may assist them in tackling issues.
