Research Services supports the delivery of the University’s Research and Enterprise Strategy, providing targeted and specialist support to the research base. 

The Grants and Contracts Officer plays a key role in supporting a range of funding development and award acceptance needs. Spotting opportunities for applications, writing and inputting into bids and having a comprehensive overview of College research interests will drive success in this role. Reporting to the Awards and Contracts Specialist, you will lead the post-award set-up of successful applications, including the review and processing of research-related contracts and agreements.

Aligned with our ambitious Research and Enterprise 2030 strategy, you will have an interest in research, excellent written and verbal communication skills and a talent for managing processes.

You will join a friendly team that is focused on delivering a professional service to the research staff at Aston and all key stakeholders of the University. The team operates a highly collaborative working style; the ability to work across teams and cultivate good relationships is essential to the role. 

You will have a degree or equivalent professional experience/qualification, excellent organisational and planning skills and experience in drafting and negotiating contracts.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a mixture of relationship and analytical skills.
