Job Summary

Designs, develops, tests, and configures software systems and computer programs. Consults with stakeholders/clients to review existing software solutions; develops new functionality and/or writes new code as needed. Collaborates with other technical staff and stakeholders/clients to ensure optimum functionality, performance, accessibility, scalability, and security of supported software. Documents software development efforts (changes, new functionality, issue/problem resolution). Follows program module test procedures, generates required test data, and executes testing procedures; performs quality assurance checks and fixes bugs accordingly; works with functional users to diagnose problems encountered during testing and provide production support. Provides documentation, information, and training through formal and informal communications to end users, departments, and internal staff. Adheres to university software development standards and best practices (version control, nightly build systems, test suites, etc.); Researches and stays up-to-date on new industry software development standards, emerging technology, UX/UI design/philosophy, and accessibility standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information, or related field. 2 years of experience in the following .NET technologies: .Net Core 5.0, .Net framework (3.5/4.0/4.5/4.6/4.7), ASP.NET or ADO.NET, 2 years of experience in the following web technologies: C, C++, Core Java, Java, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React JS, jQuery, JSON, HTML 5, Bootstrap, Angular2, PowerShell, T-SQL, AJAX or XML/XSL 2 years of experience in all of the following: DTS, ETL, Creating Jobs, Packages, and Reporting Services (SSRS), Integration Services (SSIS), and Analysis Services (SSAS) on SQL Server Database. 2 years of experience with full development life cycle, including design, coding, testing, and deployment 2 years of experience with knowledge of GitHub and Microsoft TFS. 2 years of experience with at least one of the following: MS Visual Studio, VS Code, or similar 2 years of experience with Cloud Tools 1 year of experience with IIS servers 1 year of experience with containerization tools like Docker. 1 year of experience with Waterfall and Agile SCRUM methodologies with the ability to define, estimate and deliver scope in the determined deadline

Working Conditions / Demands

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
