MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:
- Serve as a member of the Athletics Administrative
Leadership Team - Responsible for the athletics department website management
- Manage communication and social media strategy
for Marymount Athletics, working collaboratively with all external units, as well as coaches and administration. - Ideates effective
and forward-thinking creative content for distribution on all multi-media platforms to elevate the Marymount Athletics
brand. - Advises coaches and student-athletes on the most effective social media and communication strategies
- Maintain
athletic records, Sports Hall of Fame nominations and statistical files - Athletics Communications staff recruiting, hiring, training
and supervision (includes graduate assistant and student workers) - Write and distribute press releases, produce printed departmental
materials, and oversee the live stream of home athletic contests - Sport Administrator for club sport programs
- Co-chair of the
Athletics Hall of Fame nomination committee, prepare all historical information, support the Hall of Fame planning committee and oversee the
day of event logistics and presentation - Serve as a University contact for campus communications, conference membership, and national
offices. - Oversee and manage the Athletic Communications annual budget
- Oversee and support the Athletics Communications
office for major athletics events that occur annually to honor our alumni and current student-athletes (SAINTSPY’s, Hall of Fame,
etc.) - Maintain athletics image through Athletics’ Branding guidelines. Approve all athletics branding through defined process for
athletics’ team apparel and all social media logo usage. - Provides design support for championship recognition and facility branding
projects. - Ability to build relationships and influence at all levels, both internally and externally
- Proven ability to
analyze data to identify trends and drive innovation within the related field - Schedule photography as needed for internal and
external communications - Maintains partnerships at the national, state, and local levels, including with key professional and
industry organizations - Performs other job duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor’s degree
required; master’s degree preferred.
Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of related experience within the field of Sports
Information/ Athletic Communications. The candidate should possess strong knowledge of college athletics and statistic taking.
Licenses or Certifications: None
Financial Responsibility: Preparing and managing annual budgets and
developing and implementing assessment activities.
Supervision: 1-2 staff members plus student-workers
Special
Knowledge: The candidate must possess strong communication, verbal, and written skills, knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (specifically
InDesign and Photoshop), and knowledge of statistical programs (NCAA LiveStats Genius, Presto, and StatCrew).
Special Working
Conditions: Ability to work nights, weekends, some holidays, and during inclement weather. Lifting 50 lbs. or more may be required on a
regular basis.
