The Research and Knowledge Exchange Office (RKE) supports research funding, partnering and enterprise needs across the University. The office stimulates our Research, Enterprise, and Business Engagement activities and programmes in order to continue our recent and significant success. RKE activities focus on research funding, including UKRI, the UK Government, Charities, EC, and Industry.
The Grants and Contracts Officer plays a key role in the Operations Team supporting a variety of aspects of funding development and award acceptance. Spotting opportunities for applications, writing and inputting into bids, and having a comprehensive overview of College research interests will drive success in this role. Reporting to the Awards and Contracts Specialist you will lead on the post award setup of successful applications, including the review and processing of research-related contracts and agreements.
Aligned with our ambitious Research and Enterprise development agenda you will have an interest in research, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a passion for managing processes. You will join a friendly team that is focused on delivering a professional service to the academic staff at Aston and all key stakeholders of the University. The team operates a highly collaborative working style, the ability to work collaboratively across other teams and cultivate good relationships is essential to the role.
You will have a degree or equivalent professional experience/qualification, excellent organisational and planning skills alongside experience in drafting and negotiating contracts. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a mixture of relationship and analytical skills.
