We are looking for a skilled postdoctoral Research Assistant/ Associate to work on an innovative research project that has been funded through an EPSRC International Collaboration grant. This multidisciplinary, intersectoral project looks to generate bioinspired membranes for the treatment of wastewater and purification of biotechnologically produced molecules. The work is a collaboration between academics in the Colleges of Engineering and Physical Sciences and Health and Life Sciences as well as international academic and industrial scientists and, hence, an interdisciplinary mindset is essential. 

The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in cell membrane protein biochemistry and/or the synthesis and use of polymers designed for membrane protein extraction. An ability to learn new techniques quickly is highly desirable and full training will be given as needed. Experience of driving research projects on a day-to-day basis is required.

Candidates who have recently submitted their PhD and are awaiting award will be considered as Research Assistant (Grade 7).

The post is available for a fixed term of 12 months with an ideal start date in April 2024.
