The Courtauld Institute of Art is the UK’s leading institution for teaching and research in Art History and the conservation of paintings. It is also home to one of the finest small art museums in the world. The Courtauld is currently undergoing a capital transformation project that will make The Courtauld’s world-class artworks, research and teaching accessible to more people – in the UK and internationally. 

This role is based in the Student and Academic Services (SAS) department reporting into the new role of Deputy Academic Registrar. The role holder will ensure that an excellent customer focused service is provided to both students and academics and that student satisfaction is maintained at a high level.

The role holder will be responsible for the management and development of the Academic Programme Administration Team supporting the administrative delivery, including assessments and examinations, of all The Courtauld’s academic programmes and the day to day running of programme administration operations ensuring a high quality programme administration and professional support service to academic staff and students is delivered. The role holder will also be responsible for the management of the Advice Desk ensuring that this is staffed at all times, staff are fully trained and able to answer all queries accurately from both staff and students. 

You will have: 

  • Previous work experience in higher education (HE) in a senior programme administration role.
  • Experience of staff management and leading a team of administrators.
  • Knowledge and experience of servicing committees and Boards of Examiners.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in order to communicate effectively with staff, students and members of the public.
  • Excellent IT user, fully conversant with MS Office.
  • Excellent knowledge of student record systems (SITS) and Moodle Virtual Learning Environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and able to work effectively and accurately under pressure to tight deadlines.
