General Summary: The
Department of Communication Disorders & Sciences (CDS) in the College of Health Sciences is seeking an outstanding individual with
expertise in the area of audiology, who will exemplify the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and
procedures, to join the faculty in Audiology at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor. This tenure-track position provides excellent
opportunities for teaching, clinical activities, research, and scholarship.
Principal Duties and
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will hold a faculty appointment at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor in
CDS. This individual will serve as director for courses in CDS. The Rush University Medical Center (RUMC) environment facilitates
interprofessional collaboration with colleagues in speech-language pathology, otolaryngology, neurology, pediatrics, psychology, geriatrics
and other specialties. The candidate will develop a record of research and scholarship that includes extramural funding for research. The
candidate will assume the responsibilities of an academic leader at Rush as demonstrated by participation in University, college,
departmental, and other professional service activities. The candidate will serve as an effective academic advisor and clinical preceptor to
Rush graduate students.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Qualifications for the position include a Ph.D.
degree in Audiology or Hearing Sciences and evidence of teaching and research potential. Candidates with clinical training and eligibility
for Illinois licensure in Audiology are strongly preferred. Past teaching experience is preferred.
