Job Description

Ohio University, Department of
Hearing, Speech & Language Sciences, seeks applications and nominations for a non-tenure track clinical faculty position at the level of
Assistant Clinical Professor. It is a full-time 9-month academic year appointment starting August 16, 2025. Job duties include teaching
graduate and undergraduate courses, clinical supervision of students in the M.A. SLP program, and service to the
department and university. Engagement in research as part of this position is negotiable. Collaborative and successful faculty are available
to mentor in in teaching, clinical supervision, and research. The ideal candidate will have experience and expertise in one or more of the
following areas: motor speech disorders, fluency disorders, and voice disorders, along with strong interest in teaching anatomy and
neuroanatomy courses, phonetics, and speech science. We are seeking candidates with strong interests and skills in each of the following
areas: a) commitment to working effectively with students, faculty and staff from diverse backgrounds; b) organizational, communication, and
interpersonal skills to relate to diverse faculty, staff, students and community members; c) active learning and use of technology in the
learning process. Candidates must hold or be eligible for the Certificate of Clinical Competence in speech-language pathology (CCCSLP) awarded by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Candidates must hold or
be eligible for licensure by the Ohio Speech and Hearing Professionals Board. Competitive salary plus excellent benefits including

Established in 1804, Ohio University is an R1 doctoral/research intensive

focused graduate education. The Department of Hearing, Speech & Language Sciences has a distinguished history beginning in 1937. We began by
offering the baccalaureate degree in in 1937 and the Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology in 1950. Our audiology program began in 1973 and
the clinical doctorate of Audiology program was established in 2003. The PhD programs were established in 1957. We have dedicated and
collaborative faculty, staff, and students along with excellent facilities, including our on-campus Hearing, Speech & Language
Clinic.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Foreign equivalent
    degrees also acceptable.
  • Candidates must hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology awarded by the
    American Speech-Language-Hearing Association in order to apply.
  • Candidates must hold or be eligible for licensure by the Ohio Speech
    and Hearing Professionals Board.
  • At least three years of direct clinical experience.

Preferred
Qualifications

All minimum qualifications plus:

  • PhD in Communication Sciences and Disorders (PhD may
    be in a closely related field, ABD acceptable at time of hire)
  • Experience in clinical supervision of
    graduate students
  • Teaching experience in one or more desired areas listed above
  • Continuing education in ethics and
    supervision
