About the role

This is an exceptional opportunity for an academic to join Forward College, a new, innovative and pan-European university based in Paris, Berlin and Lisbon. We’re looking for an assistant professor in Psychology to make a significant impact and teach our second-year students registered for our BSc in Psychology.

Forward provides the opportunity to develop your research, secure funding, teach and mentor students, and build collaborations within and outside the College. We are committed to advancing knowledge and promoting excellence in teaching, research and impact.

Our approach reflects this commitment:

  • Approximately 30% of your time will be dedicated to research, pedagogical development or other, career development activities.
  • All of our teaching is small classes with an average of 15 students per class.
  • We employ a ‘flipped classroom’ approach, with teaching and tutoring accounting for around 40% of your week during term time.
  • Our students embark on a multi-city programme as part of their studies (‘3 years – 3 cities’), spending a year each in Lisbon, Paris, and Berlin.

This is a tenure track appointment leading to a permanent position upon successful completion of tenure, usually after 24 months.

The College attracts bright and motivated students who wish to achieve academic excellence but also nurture their practical, technological, social, and emotional intelligences. We leverage and develop the whole spectrum of human intelligences: cognitive intelligence to analyse and solve complex problems; social intelligence to engage people across different fields of expertise and backgrounds; emotional intelligence to manage one’s balance, be mindful of others, and nurture creativity; and practical intelligence to implement projects effectively, harness technology, and deliver lasting change.
