In this context, a new academic position, at the level of Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurial Finance has been opened in the School of Business Social and Decisions Sciences. Accordingly, Constructor University invites applications from interested candidates for the following position, to be filled ideally by Fall 2024:
Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurial Finance (m/f/d)- full time; tenure track
Your responsibilities:
In this position, you will support our teaching and research activities in the field of Entrepreneurial Finance. For instance, you will teach and develop courses dealing with startup financing, venture capital, private equity, crowdfunding and alternative financing and related subjects, adapting to the evolving landscape of startup funding. The successful candidate will also pursue and lead research initiatives that directly address the challenges and opportunities within entrepreneurial finance, such as valuation of startups, fintech innovations, fundraising strategies, and the financial management of fast-growing ventures.
In addition, you will foster connections with the entrepreneurial ecosystem, including startups, accelerators, venture capitalists, and angel investors within and outside the Constructor ecosystem to facilitate experiential learning opportunities for students and collaborative research projects. Moreover, you will guide and mentor students and university spin-offs with potential business ideas or financial plans.
You are expected to support teaching in the School of Business, Social and Decisions Sciences and focus on developing and implementing innovative, pedagogically sound approaches to online, hybrid, and in-person education. Furthermore, you will work across our three schools to integrate entrepreneurial finance with other areas of education, and you will advise students on their studies and supervise Bachelor, Master’s, and PhD theses and research projects.
Your qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Finance, Business, Economics, or a closely related field, with a focus on entrepreneurship and finance
- A track record of publications in entrepreneurial finance or related areas in recognized journals or a strong pipeline indicating future publications
- Experience and success in teaching in the context of international and diverse environments
- Demonstrable interest in innovative teaching and learning approaches
- Experience in transferring research knowledge to solving problems
- Responsible, self-motivated person able to work independently and as a part of a team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Intercultural experience and competence
- Fluency in English, the language of instruction and communication on campus
