Work Schedule: This tenure track position has summers off! Regular schedule is mid-Aug to mid-May with pay and benefits over 12 months.

Job Summary:
This position is responsible for providing instruction and serving as advisor to students enrolled in the Graphic and Web Design Program each semester and possibly during NIC’s six-week summer session. The instructional focus is teaching students to write high-quality, scalable, and reusable code, as well as how to utilize current industry Web Technology.

Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience: Associate’s Degree in Graphic Design, Web Design, or a related field and five (5) years of full time recent equivalent experience as a web design professional OR a Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Web Design, or related field and three (3) years of full-time equivalent recent experience as a web design professional; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated sensitivity to the needs of students, faculty, and staff from multi-cultural backgrounds.
Required License and/or Certifications:
Must achieve related Idaho CTE Postsecondary Limited Occupational Specialist Certification within first 12 months of employment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills
- Ability to use a personal computer and associated peripherals and current version of Apple Operating system, Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office, Internet, and alternative delivery systems (e.g., internet and interactive video) at a proficient level.
- Expert knowledge of coding apps and web site programming language: HTML/CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, SEO.
- Proficiency with GITHUB, Node.js, jQuery, Web Usability, Interaction Design/Prototyping, Social Media Design Strategies, UX Design, and current industry Web Technology.
- Analytical and detail oriented.
- Advanced problem-solving skills.
- Ability to demonstrate the creation of functional, creative user-friendly websites.
- Proficient with hardware and web software applications.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment including phone and copier.
