Job Summary

The Athletics Communications Assistant will serve as the primary strategist, administrator and manager for the selected accounts on UKathletcs.com, X, Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok and any other social media platforms that emerge. Responsibilities include planning content with the goals of engaging fans, supporting recruiting, distributing important information and ensuring appropriate coverage of all 23 UK teams; maintaining a calendar of upcoming events and identifying all opportunities where live coverage is appropriate; coordinating with all stakeholders in the athletics department to ensure goals are met; collaborating with the Ticket Office to develop strategy for ticket-related communications on relevant channels; and tracking metrics and analytics to ensure social media accounts are performing at a high level in terms of engagement and follower growth.

This position must comply with NCAA, SEC and University policies, rules and regulations.

Preferred Education/Experience

One to two years experience in high-profile college or professional sports. Bachelor’s degree.
