Job Purpose
The AV Technology IT Support Specialist is a key member of the IT team at TTU. The main responsibility of this position is to provide technical support and training for classroom technologies, including audio/visual equipment, digital projectors, interactive whiteboards, and other multimedia tools. The AV Technology IT Support Specialist ensures that classroom technologies are fully operational, and faculty, staff, and students have the technical support necessary to effectively use classroom technologies. The AV Technology IT Support Specialist reports to the Manager of the Learning Spaces and works closely with other IT staff, as well as faculty, and students. The position requires occasional evening and weekend work to support student events and activities that use classroom technologies.

Essential Functions
Provide technical support for classroom technologies, including audio/visual equipment, digital projectors, interactive whiteboards, and other multimedia tools. Resolution of issues from support staff which may require reprogramming and redeployment of technology equipment for campus A/V spaces. Install, configure, and maintenance classroom technologies, including hardware and software included but not limited to: Responsible for proactive quality assurance checking of rooms on a regular scheduled basis, and responsible for inventory management. Coordinate with manager: to identify and implement new technologies that support the universitys academic mission, to inspect and approve vendor installations to ensure needs are addressed, and regarding operational documentation for classroom technologies. Collaborate with other IT support teams to ensure that classroom technologies are fully integrated into the universitys IT infrastructure. Assist with the planning and execution of student focused events and projects that require the use of classroom technologies.
Minimum Qualifications
A bachelors degree from an accredited institution in computer science, information technology or a similar discipline and four years of IT experience or a bachelors degree with two years of experience in AV controls, programming, installation, or troubleshooting. The candidate should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely and professional manner. A strong understanding of AV systems and technologies, such as projectors, microphones, speakers, cameras, and video conferencing. The ability to operate, configure, and troubleshoot AV equipment and software, such as Crestron, Extron, Zoom, and Microsoft teams. The ability to communicate effectively with faculty, staff, and students, and provide technical support and training as needed. The ability to work independently and as part of a team, and manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment. The ability to follow safety procedures and adhere to institutional policies and standards.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience providing IT support in a higher education setting. Experience and/or certifications in AV control systems, such as Crestron and Extron. Experience or knowledge of control systems programming and/or networking operations. Experience or knowledge of digital audio and video encoding and transmission.
Work Hours: Typical hours are 8:00am-4:30pm Monday through Friday. Hours may be adjusted for campus events as necessary.
Salary: Commensurate with education and experience. Administrative Pay Grade AD46.
