Job Description


The Communication Sciences and Disorders Department at Nazareth University invites applications for a full-time Clinical Assistant
Professor/Clinic Manager position to begin in the Fall of 2024. This is a 10.5 month position with a summer stipend for additional
administrative work that is completed during the months of July and August. Some early evening availability is required throughout the
semester due to the operating hours of the Speech and Language Clinic.

Responsibilities include: planning and coordinating the
activities that maintain the functioning of the Speech and Language Clinic (e.g., scheduling therapy sessions, training clinical educators,
managing supervisory/staffing needs, maintaining electronic client records); clinical supervision; teaching at least one academic course per
semester; mentoring and advising undergraduate and graduate students; and engaging in service at the University and Departmental levels.
Clinical faculty are also encouraged to pursue creative and scholarly work, particularly those types of projects that emphasize community
engagement and student involvement.

The Nazareth CSD Department comprises undergraduate and graduate programs, with
graduate specialties in autism, deafness, early intervention, and medical speech-language pathology. Graduate students can also earn the New
York State Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TSSLD) and Bilingual Education (Spanish) certificate. The department has about 200
students (~90 graduate students) and 13 FT faculty, and is housed in a state-of-the-art facility. Interprofessional collaboration and
education are hallmarks of Nazareth University; our on-campus clinics are located in the York Wellness and Rehabilitation Institute, a
facility that also houses physical therapy, occupational therapy, and creative arts therapy clinics in addition to our own Speech and
Language Clinic, Neurogenic Communication and Cognition Clinic, and Audiology Clinic. Our many active on- and off-campus clinics, which
annually deliver more than 15,000 hours of service in the community, provide opportunities for clinical supervision and clinically applied
research endeavors.

Required education, skills:

  • Masters Degree in Speech-Language
    Pathology/Communication Disorders
  • American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Certificate of Clinical Competence-Speech-Language
    Pathology (CCC-SLP)
  • New York State License – Speech-Language Pathologist
  • Three years of clinical experience working
    with the birth-21 population 
  • Experience as a clinical supervisor/clinical educator
