Colleague ERP Programmer
Analyst (Temple College – Temple, TX)
The Colleague Programmer Analyst’s main role is to consult with end users,
understand and optimize business processes and to assist them in becoming more efficient and effective utilizing the Colleague ERP system
driving student success. This position reports to the Executive Director.
Where you will make an impact
- Provides functional and technical assistance by responding to inquiries regarding errors, problems, or questions with programs,
processes, and reporting. - Analysis of existing custom Colleague code, screens, files, and with the goal of removing customizations
no longer required for daily operations and assisting end users and departments to transition processes and practices to Ellucian delivered
functionality. - Troubleshoots errors and issues encountered by end users and provides resolution to solve issue to client’s
satisfaction. - Analyzes code to find causes of errors and, within acceptable guidelines, revises programs as required to meet
industry best practice solutions. - Partners with manager and client end users to gather requirements about business process flow,
application intent, functions, features, data, input, and output requirements, internal and external checks and controls, hardware and
operating system environment, and interfaces with other systems. - Ability to create and test transactions to find errors and confirm
program meets specifications. - Assists client with identifying data integration points and functional dependencies within the
Colleague ERP system and to third party systems. - Advises on key communications needs for Colleague modules and maintenance
upgrades. - Serves as a resource in the areas of client/server architecture, relational data base design, networking and
communications, systems analysis, systems administration, document imaging, job scheduling or a combination of specialties. - Works
closely with project management and technical teams to support successful deployment. - Works with client to develop functional
conversion requirements and data mapping specifications. - Updates ticket tracking database (KACE, Service Now) with pertinent
information. - Writes and maintains documentation of changes to computer code, programs, and specifications.
- Maintains
monthly reporting requirements.
What you will bring
- 5+ years of experience and expert
functional/technical knowledge in the Colleague ERP application. - Programming languages: Envision (requirement for Colleague), C#,
.net, Java, Python. - Experience and expertise with Entrinsik Informer.
- Thorough technical knowledge in development
methodologies, design and implementation. - Effective skills in research and analysis, project planning and implementation.
- Good understanding of entire development and implementation process, including specification, documentation, and quality assurance.
- Understanding of higher education related business processes in one or more of these areas: Student,
- Finance, Financial Aid,
Human Resources/Payroll, or Institutional Reporting. - Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to maintain
effective working relationships with clients, co-workers, and vendors. - Excellent decision-making, time-management, and planning
skills. - Customer-centric approach to problem-solving.
- Experience working with clients to gather requirements and
understanding business processes. - Must be a self-starter and motivated to move projects forward.
- Ability to manage
competing priorities in a highly demanding environment. - Colleague Functional Experience including Core, Student, Self-Service,
Finance, AP, Budget, Purchasing, Fixed Assets, Financial Aid, HR, - Payroll, Web Time Entry, Dashboards, and typical Reporting
tools. - Experience with Ellucian CRM Recruiter and/or CRM Advise, Ellucian Ethos use and integration.
- Experience with
Hyland OnBase document management. - Experience with Ellucian ILP v5.
- Experience with D2L LMS platform.
