Job Description
At Unreasonable, we build community between entrepreneurs, institutions, and investors to profitably solve pressing global problems. Every day, our team strives to give the entrepreneurs we support the resources, relationships, capital and connections to help scale their impact. We do this by connecting them with our global community of mentors, investors, business leaders, and policymakers. Today, the over 380 CEOs in the Unreasonable Fellowship have raised more than $13B in financing, generated more than $10B in revenue, and are measurably impacting the lives of more than 1.4 billion individuals in nearly every country and territory worldwide. But we’re just getting started…
The Digital Communications Manager (the “Manager”) will report to the Vice President, Office of the CEO (the “VP”) and work within the external relations team spanning partnerships, brand, communications, video production, and social media functions. The Manager will support in strengthening our brand across various channels. Although the title has the word “Manager” in it, this is not a people management role — we know, it’s ironic =). This is an implementation role designed for someone who loves to work collaboratively, but has the full responsibility to execute on all responsibilities as defined below. The Manager will be responsible for the production of content in addition to delivering and managing Unreasonable’s external communications strategy. Furthermore, the Manager will work with each of our partners to design and implement communications related to the initiatives we run, will serve as in-house videographer and photographer at our gatherings, and will execute our digital communications strategy across multiple channels (from social media to our newsletter). Please note, this job will involve international travel, as our programs run globally.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Digital Media
Develop and publish cutting-edge digital communications assets to enhance our brand visibility and engagement across various digital platforms (primarily LinkedIn on social media and across our various newsletters).
Create and publish compelling and engaging written, video, and photo content for diverse digital channels, ensuring alignment with our brand voice, messaging, and mission.
Serve as the primary photographer, editor, and videographer at Unreasonable’s programmatic gatherings and be responsible for the publication of all created assets during and after said gatherings.
Manage, analyze, and optimize our social media presence (primarily on LinkedIn), monitoring trends and engagement metrics for continuous improvement.
Stay informed and up-to-date about the work and achievements of all key people in our community – from our Fellows to our Mentors – and consistently highlight their progress and impact across social channels and newsletters.
Work with our institutional partners to plan and implement digital communications strategies, and manage and execute program-specific deliverables, which would include program booklets, social media toolkits, program highlight videos, media briefs for partners etc.. Two example partnerships are Unreasonable Impact, created with Barclays and Unreasonable Food, created with Mars.
Work with any design contractors and manage the execution of program-specific assets.
Work cross-functionally with our public relations and media contractor(s) in the planning and development of all content, campaigns, and events.
Marketing
Support the Partnerships team and the CEO with the design of key documents for marketing and closing new partnerships (eg. one-pagers and beautifully designed slide decks…etc).
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR….
You have a strong eye for design and feel comfortable using Adobe Creative Suite, Canva etc. to create compelling visual content. You identify as a creative.
You have experience in working with Artificial Intelligence platforms, in an effort to streamline the production of media assets (from editing, to images, graphics, and copy writing).
You have experience building a brand’s social presence from the ground up, especially during periods of fast growth and scale and especially on LinkedIn (i.e. where most of the Unreasonable community lives).
You are a strong writer, and you believe in the power of telling stories that drive action.
Using data to inform strategy doesn’t scare you. You are confident with Google Analytics, Mailchimp, and other data tracking platforms.
You are entrepreneurial and love to run experiments to test your ideas.
You’re passionate about the work of mission-focused entrepreneurs and “impact investing.” If given the choice, you’d talk or read about it in your personal time.
You believe magic is in the details. Every pixel and word counts.
You are a multi-tasker, able to seamlessly shift between conversations, projects, and relationships. You thrive in this kind of environment.
You are equally able to collaborate with a multinational partner or teammate as you are able to take full ownership of a project from start to finish.
It’s important to note that this role is an execution role and not a management role. You will need to love working autonomously on your remit but collaboratively across members of our team and community.
You show up with empathy, humility and generosity. Your intent with all your work is to create positive impact – for the entrepreneurs we support, our partners, your teammates, and beyond.
You always follow up and follow through on your word.
You are not the type of person who says, “That’s not my job.”
You are willing to learn things you don’t know and do whatever it takes to get the job done.
As you read about Unreasonable’s core values, you get more and more excited with each value you come across.
