Job Description


The Speech-Language Pathology Program at Midwestern University in Glendale Arizona invites applications for a full time, tenure track
Assistant Professor and Director of Clinical Education. A faculty member in the Speech-Language Pathology Program has responsibilities in
teaching, scholarship, and service which will include evidence-based classroom instruction, clinical education in area of expertise,
development of a productive line of scholarship and active participation on Program committees. The Director of Clinical Education role
includes responsibilities in clinical education and leadership, recordkeeping and communication, and quality monitoring, including
overseeing the placement of students into clinical practicum placements throughout the program. The DCE will assist the Advanced Practicum
Coordinator with individualized placement of students into educational and healthcare advanced practicum rotations and will work
collaboratively with other program leadership and faculty to ensure high quality clinical education is provided throughout the
curriculum.

Applicants must hold a minimum of a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or a related area, certification
in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA CCC-SLP) and must hold or be eligible for state
licensure in Arizona. An earned doctorate in Speech-Language Pathology or related discipline, prior university academic or clinical teaching
experience, scholarly productivity, and professional service will enhance the candidate’s application. The candidate must possess
leadership and supervisory skills, excellent interpersonal skills, maturity, the ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks well,
good judgment and a professional demeanor. This individual should also possess strong organizational, relationship management and
administrative skills to carry out the duties of the position.
