Job Description
DTU, Department of Civil and Mechanical Engineering (DTU Construct) is looking for a Tenure Track Assistant Professor who will have responsibility for teaching and research in the field of refrigeration and heat pump technology with a strong focus on digitalization and integration into the energy system.
Responsibilities and qualifications
The new assistant professor will have significant responsibility for further development of the research in the field in close collaboration with industrial and academic partners and colleagues in the department.
We are looking for a candidate who is dedicated to being part of the green transition of society focusing on novel research contributions with potential impact in engineering practice as well as on the education of new candidates in the field.
You will be responsible for teaching courses. DTU employs two working languages: Danish and English. You are expected to be fluent in at least one of these languages, and in time are expected to master both.
The work could include research within:
- Digital methods for heat pumps and refrigeration units.
- Digital twins.
- Fault detection.
- Advanced monitoring techniques.
- Integration
- Integration of heat pumps with industrial processes.
- Integration of heat pumps with district heating/cooling systems/energy storage and the electricity sector.
- Control strategies and operation of heat pumps and refrigeration units.
- Dynamic modelling.
- System flexibility and Extension of operation range.
The ideal candidate should have documented experience and show understanding within the following topics:
- Applied thermodynamics.
- Vapour compression systems.
- Dynamic modelling of heat pumps.
- Operation and control of thermal energy units.
- The role of energy conversion units for integration of energy sectors.
As formal qualification you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent).
Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union.
