The Union of BC Municipalities is a member driven association formed in 1905 to provide a common voice for local governments in BC. Our membership comprises all municipalities and regional districts in BC as well as 8 member First Nations. UBCM achieves this through policy work, program management and member services.

Position Overview:
The Events Coordinator provides support for planning, organizing, as well as performing tasks associated with the annual UBCM convention and other events.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate must have the following qualifications:
- Five years of relevant experience coordinating large events (e.g. conventions), establishing and building relationships and partnerships with external stakeholders, and/or acting as a senior administrator, in the broader public sector, or with provincial or local government.
- Diploma or degree in marketing, events management, business administration or other relevant discipline.
- Knowledge of events management strategies and best practices, project management, and procurement and contract management.

Office location: Richmond, BC
Hours per week: The position is available as a 35-hour work week (1.0 FTE)
Salary: $71,668 – $89,549 annually, $2,986 – $3,731 semi-monthly (2024 rates)
