Job Description
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) was founded in 1957 by four nations: Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia and South Africa. As the administrative body of the region, CAF manages competitions, offers technical and administrative training courses while actively fostering the promotion and practice of football. The Confederation organizes championships such as the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN or AFCON), the most popular competition. It maintains very close links with FIFA in coordinating tournaments for different events such as the World Cup, Youth and Women competitions and the Olympic Games Football Tournaments.Responsibilities
Assist the HoR and Technology Manager in the Implementation and Follow up of the VAR and football Technology Strategic Plan.
Assist with the elaboration, planning, and conduct of the annual Referees VAR and all activities related to Football technology.
Assist in elaboration and conduct of Procedures for Training, Analysing all matches and referees match situations in competitions like Evaluation, Follow-up with referees, Assessors and Instructors.
Assist in Referees VARs, AVARs and ROs qualifications and all approval plan and process.
Assist in the FIFA IAAP platform, adding editing and creating any new task on it and follow up all processes.
Prepare and handle all VAR teaching materials for CAF Referees and any other support material for VAR.
Assist in Elaboration of Refereeing Development tools: Teaching Material, Courses, MAs contents and VAR courses.
Prepare any material to develop the teaching in all Members associations and Zonal unions.
Assist in all VAR activites in all CAF, MAs and Zonal Activities and competitions.
Assist the department in all administrative matters to prepare for any Events (Requests, Tenders, Evaluation, Courses preparation, Compitions Preparations, etc.
Follow up and update requests and any information for any referees or Assessors and any other persons involved with refereeing in CAF platform and/or FIFA platform.
Assist and give all support to Football Technology (VAR. GPS, Communications, Watches, Witte system, etc.
Requirements (Profile)
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, or equivalent is a must.
Additional Studies in Football (ex: FIFA Masters, etc.) is an advantage.
At least 3 years of experience in VAR, TV, or any related field as well as at least 1 year of experience as a Team Leader.
Expert in VAR Technology (servers, system setup, RRA, simulator, etc.), production field and Referees communication Technology.
Fluent in English and/or French language both written and spoken is a must; command of any other CAF language (English, French & Arabic) language is an advantage.
High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office and other modern IT tools.
Good communication skills, leadership skills, and ability to work under stress, and in a fast-paced environment.
