Under general supervision of the Athletics Director, the Head Coach, Women’s Volleyball is responsible for the management of the Women’s Volleyball program, which is an NCAA Division I program in the Big West Conference.


Hires and supervises assistant coaches; oversees practice and game day coaching; identifies, evaluates, and recruits academically qualified student-athletes and monitors their academic progress; and maintains a team Academic Progress Rate at 985 or above the NCAA minimum requirements.


Develops a competitive schedule; adheres to university and departmental practices relating to expenditures; cultivates and maintains effective relations with students, parents, faculty, staff, media, and friends of the University. Plays a leadership role in marketing, fundraising, and revenue generation for the program, department, and University.

Establishes an ethical and collegial work environment, promoting a collaborative, accountable and inclusive team. Encourages a courageous and resilient solution-oriented environment by participating in new opportunities to further the mission of the university. Conducts themselves in a manner representative of the University, the Department, and the sport both on and off the field of competition. Is knowledgeable about and comply with NCAA regulatory policy governing their sport; as well as NCAA and conference policies governing recruiting, eligibility, ethical standards, playing seasons, and extra benefits. Applicants must demonstrate a commitment and ability to teach, mentor and work with a diverse student population. Lead diverse teams to support the operational mission and vision of employers by fostering an ethical, inclusive and collegial work environment.


Demonstrated ability to support ongoing improvement through courageous, resilient, and catalytic leadership. Lead varying initiatives through a collaborative, service-oriented and communicative approach. Demonstrated commitment to employee development, recognition, and accountability to further operational goals.

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution; and
  • Minimum of five (5) years of: demonstrated coaching and recruiting experience; and/or professional league playing experience.
