Job Description


The Faculty of Arts and Education at Deakin, led by new Executive Dean Professor Simon Tormey, is dedicated to being at the forefront of teaching, learning, creating, social development and fostering cutting-edge research and discovery. The Faculty is now undertaking a global search for the next Head of the School of Communication and Creative Arts (SCCA). SCCA is one of three Schools in the Faculty and is home to an extensive, exciting array of disciplines and methodologies, which are encompassed within its four focus areas: Art and Design; Communications; Film, Animation and Performing Arts; and Writing, Literature and Culture. The School has world-leading academics across many domains, with a strong ethic of critical and creative inquiry, balanced by a deep appreciation of the power of practice and professional application.

Reporting into the Executive Dean, the next Head of the SCCA will bring distinction in a relevant area combined with breadth of vision, strategic acumen, and demonstrable experience leading and inspiring teams in an innovative, highly multidisciplinary environment.
