Responsible for everything from sourcing coffee, speaking to importers, and organizing product menus.
Request Samples of roasting new coffees and tasting it
Must he have experience operating a roaster, head roasters will also need to show a range of other skills, including good organization and strong leadership. As well as regular meetings with suppliers, coffee shop owners, and retailers means good people skills are also highly valued.
Provide ongoing support and training for the team
Assist with creating new recipes and blends of coffee when required
Assist with bagging & sealing roasted coffee
Assist with delivering coffee orders
Assist with placing/receiving product orders
Clean, protect, and maintain the roastery and all equipment
Skills
Must have at least two years of experience in roasting
Familiarity with roasting machines of different types
Excellent time management skills
Ability to communicate effectively with staff
Willingness to go above and beyond expectation
