Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have a degree in Arts, Business, Human Resources, Labour/Industrial Relations, Human Services, Law or a related field
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 10 years progressively senior roles developing and leading initiatives with corporate level impact
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be individuals with the ability to effectively interact, communicate, influence, and collaborate with a variety of partners, including senior leaders
- The candidates should demonstrate the ability to maintain professionalism in confidential matters and apply strong leadership, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
- The candidates should have experience working in a unionized environment, public sector, law enforcement, and/or justice-based environment, which will be considered an asset
- The candidates should have competency including leadership, strategy development and implementation, change management, communication, managing resources, planning and prioritizing/visionary, and relationship building
- The candidates should be able to provide proof of qualifications and have equivalent combinations of education and experience
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of new and existing frameworks and systems that build a Respectful Workplace culture in the Calgary Police Service (CPS) by supporting a safe workplace, free of harassment and discrimination that is inclusive and values a diverse workforce
- The candidates should be able to develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives that drive a respectful workplace culture in CPS and lead the Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (EDIB) Framework
- The candidates should be able to manage the respectful workplace reporting, ensuring appropriate policies, standard operating procedures, and best practices are in place
- The candidates should be able to oversee Respectful Workplace pillars, including Education (includes prevention, mentoring, and training); Policy (procedures and program manuals); Investigations; Workplace Restoration (includes mediation, circles); and evaluation mechanisms
- The candidates should be able to manage, support, and coach direct reports on expectations and how to support members of CPS in a respectful workplace
- The candidates should be able to develop partnerships within CPS to demonstrate the foundational attributes, competencies, and key behaviors of Calgary Police Service values
- The candidates should be able to engage in change management and identify gaps in organizational knowledge and build relationships to understand the complexity of working in a first responder policing environment
- The candidates should be able to continuously plan, monitor, and evaluate education plans and programs and monitor emerging trends and best practices in the field of Human Rights, Discrimination, and Harassment
