About This Opportunity:
Â
We are looking for a visionary and influential Chief Learning Officer (CLO) to join our team. This externally-focused role will act as the companyâs chief ambassador, thought leader, and catalyst for change in the learning industry. The CLO will work closely with our Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to amplify our brandâs presence and drive strategic growth. Additionally, the CLO will spearhead the creation and leadership of a vibrant learning and development community, positioning Docebo as a central hub for industry dialogue and collaboration. While the primary focus of this role will be external, the CLO is also responsible for helping to shape Doceboâs internal talent culture, working in close collaboration with our CEO, Chief People Officer and Executive Team.Â

The ideal CLO is a highly networked individual who capitalizes on personality-based marketing to build relationships which will help strengthen our market positioning and influence senior stakeholders. You are a charismatic, advanced communicator with strong business acumen who thrives on making connections. This role requires a blend of strategic leadership, innovative program development, and a strong external focus to drive revenue and brand recognition through our learning and development solutions.

The CLO will:

Thought Leadership & Industry Influence:
– Serve as the primary spokesperson and thought leader for Docebo, representing us at industry events, conferences, and media engagements.
– Develop and share thought leadership content, including research papers, articles, and blog posts, that highlights our innovative approaches and positions the company as a leader in learning technology.
– Engage with educational technology and learning communities to drive discussions on emerging trends, challenges, and opportunities.

Learning & Development Community Leadership:
– Establish and lead a dynamic learning and development community that brings together educators, industry professionals, and thought leaders to exchange ideas, share best practices, and collaborate on innovative projects.
– Organize and facilitate community events, webinars, and forums that drive engagement and foster a culture of continuous learning and development.
– Act as a mentor and advocate within the community, positioning it as the most sought after community to be a part of in the learning industry.

Strategic Partnerships & Collaboration:
– Forge and maintain strategic partnerships with top HR Executives and influencers in the learning and development space.Â
– Collaborate with the CMO to align external messaging with company goals, ensuring a cohesive and impactful brand narrative.
– Identify and pursue joint ventures, pilot programs, and collaborative projects that advance both Docebo and its partners.

Internal Learning and Development:
– Develop and implement a comprehensive learning strategy that aligns with the companyâs goals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
– Design and oversee targeted training initiatives that address skills gaps, support individual career growth, and promote cross-departmental collaboration.
– Establish metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of learning initiatives, leveraging data to drive improvements and demonstrate impact on employee performance and organizational success.

Innovation & Vision:
– Contribute strategic direction on the development of new products and solutions, ensuring alignment with market needs and educational advancements.
– Stay informed about the latest trends in learning technology and incorporate this knowledge into the companyâs strategic initiatives and product offerings.
– Collaborate with internal teams, including Product Development, to drive innovation and refine our solutions based on industry feedback.

Brand & Market Positioning:
– Work closely with the Marketing team to develop and execute strategies that enhance Doceboâs brand visibility and reputation in the market.
– Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to refine our positioning and identify new opportunities for growth and engagement.
– Ensure that all external communications and marketing efforts reflect our thought leadership and commitment to advancing learning solutions.

Strategic Leadership:
– Partner with the executive team to identify gaps and prioritize internal and external learning and development needs.
– Collaborate with the CEO and Executive team to design and implement a holistic learning and development strategy that aligns with our companyâs strategic vision.
Our ideal candidate has:
- An extensive learning background with 10+ years experience, including several years as a VP of Talent, VP Learning and Development, or CLO, with a strong track record of external influence and thought leadership.
- Proven success in building and leading communities, with a focus on fostering collaboration and engagement among diverse stakeholders.
- A robust network, with long-standing relationships with executive level learning and development professionals including Chief Learning Officers, Chief HR or People Officers, and/or Chief Talent Officers.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience speaking at high-profile industry events and engaging with various media outlets.
- Strong partnership skills, with the ability to work effectively with Marketing, CMO, CEO and other internal teams to drive cohesive strategies and initiatives.
- Passion for learning and a commitment to leveraging technology to drive positive change and innovation.
- Deep understanding of cutting edge learning/talent research and data findings to stay on the forefront of what is happening in the industry..Â
- Proven repeatable experience in building, launching, and marketing learning and development programs both internally and to external customers.
- Strong strategic and business acumen, with the ability to align learning strategies with both internal and external business goals.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and change with ease as the organization scales.
- Ability and willingness to travel 40% or more, with frequent travel to North America and Europe to visit Doceboâs offices, attend industry events and conferences, etc.Â
