Milk and Honey based in Langley, BC is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Child care live-in caregiver. Milk and Honey are famously known for providing exceptional services to the employees. We are a home of cooperation and providing all the basic facilities and care to our employees. The candidates selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible. The position of Child care live-in caregiver is approved by LMIA (Labour Market Impact Assessment)

Job Description:

Salary: $28.00 to $30.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 30 to 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Langley, BC
Shifts: Day, Evening, Weekend, Overtime, On Call, Morning
Transportation information: Willing to travel, willing to travel regularly, and valid driver’s licence
Work setting: Work in employer’s/client’s home

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Area of specialization: Autistic children, children with an intellectual disability, children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) or attention deficit disorder (ADD), and children with learning disabilities 
Security and safety: Child Abuse Registry check, child welfare check, criminal record check, driver’s validity license check, drug test, medical exam, and vulnerable sector check

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be non-smoking and scent-free
  • The candidates should be willing to work overtime as required and be physically capable of handling demanding tasks, including handling weights of up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and up to 45 kg (100 lbs)
  • The candidates should be able to perform repetitive tasks efficiently and work effectively under pressure

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should demonstrate a strong focus on client needs and satisfaction, possess efficient interpersonal skills for effective communication with clients and colleagues, and excel in oral communication, conveying information clearly and professionally
  • The candidates should demonstrate excellent written communication skills for effective documentation and correspondence, exhibit flexibility in adapting to changing circumstances and requirements, and show initiative in taking proactive steps to address challenges and achieve goals
  • The candidates should exercise sound judgment in decision-making and problem-solving situations, maintain an organized approach to tasks and responsibilities, and be reliable, consistently fulfilling their duties and commitments
  • The candidates should also be team players, collaborating effectively with others to achieve common objectives

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to assume full responsibility for the household in the absence of parents, perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties, and travel with the family on trips while assisting with child supervision and housekeeping duties
  • The candidates should be able to instruct children in personal hygiene and social development, maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home, and organize activities such as games and outings for children
  • The candidates should be able to supervise and care for children, take children to and from school and appointments, and tend to the emotional well-being of children
  • The candidates should be able to help children with homework, provide assistance to students with special needs, and assist clients/guests with special needs
