Marinos Your Independent Grocer based in Sechelt, BC is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Delicatessen clerk – retail. Marinos Your Independent Grocer offers a diverse selection of fresh produce, pantry staples, deli items, and gourmet products, catering to the unique needs and tastes of the community. Our knowledgeable and friendly staff go the extra mile to ensure every shopping experience is a pleasant one. The candidates who will get selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible.

Location: Sechelt, BC
Shifts: Day, Evening, Weekend, Morning
Type of product: Food and food products
Transportation information: Public transportation is available, Own transportation
Work setting: Supermarket/grocery store, Urban area, In shop

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years’

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be a repetitive tasker
  • The candidates should be able to stand, bend, crouch, and kneel for extended periods
  • The candidates should be able to handle weight Up to 9 kg (20 lbs)

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should be efficient, energetic, organized, and reliable
  • The candidates should have positive attitude, and be able to work as a team player

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorized (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to operate cash register
  • The candidates should be able to provide advice about merchandise
  • The candidates should be able to assist in display of merchandise
  • The candidates should be able to greet customers and discuss type, quality and quantity of merchandise or services sought for purchase, rental or lease
  • The candidates should be able to prepare merchandise for purchase, rental or lease
  • The candidates should be able to prepare sales, rental or leasing contracts and accept cash, cheque, credit card or automatic debit payment
