Shifts: Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Overtime, Flexible Hours, Early Morning, Morning
Transportation information: Long-haul, Provincial/territorial.
Work setting: Willing to relocate
Documentation knowledge: Accident or incident reports, Driver logbook, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), Maintenance and repair reports
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 7 months
Equipment and machinery experience: Flatbed, Tractor-trailer
Security and safety: Driving record check (abstract)
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to work overtime as required and be physically capable of demanding tasks
- The candidates should be able to perform repetitive tasks and sit for extended periods
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should exhibit flexibility and demonstrate good judgment
- The candidates should be organized and display reliability
- The candidates should be a team player and be hardworking
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions
- The candidates should be able to address customers’ complaints or concerns
- The candidates should be able to drive as part of a two-person team or convoy
- The candidates should be able to load and unload goods
- The candidates should be able to oversee the condition of the vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment
- The candidates should be able to perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections and oversee all aspects of the vehicle
- The candidates should be able to perform preventive maintenance
- The candidates should be able to record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel consumption
- The candidates should be able to tarp and ensure the safety and security of cargo
