Job Description
Overall Purpose of Job:
This role is key to support the completion of a complete and accurate financial statement for all the in scope KOSTAL entities.
The Senior Accountant has a solid understanding of the connections between financial processes and their impact to the financial statement.
Have a good overview of each financial statement key sections to be able to identify anomalies, or inconsistencies and report those to the team leader.
This role assists the review of key controls embedded in the processes, if any of these missing could support the design and implementation of new process level controls.
Main tasks, roles and responsibilities:
- Involved in the transition of accounting processes from European entities to Hungary and actively shape in line with the process governance provided by the Global Process Head for GL and Asset Ledger
- Ensure and support the timely and accurate reporting of accounting data to the reporting and consolidation system, including additional analysis, schedules and research
- Ensure and support in performing local statutory accounting for the legal entities in compliance with the respective local GAAP, including preparation of statutory financial reports
- Ensure a reporting package for the group consolidation in accordance with German GAAP is prepared
- Contribute to preparation and review of management reports and financial information analysis on monthly, quarterly and annual basis
- Manage ongoing operations of the team –as a second hand of the G/L team lead.
- Coordination and controlling of the knowledge transfer and ensuring seamless post go-live stabilization of finance processes in scope in close alignment with the GL and Asset Ledger team lead, Financial Head as required
- Contribute to define a closing schedule to speed up closing procedures, in close alignment with the Global Process Head
- Lead by example a cross-functional collaboration, create a motivating working atmosphere and actively drive the change management
- Participate and lead projects assigned to the role (incl. Process optimization)
- Identify, evaluate and resolve issues (incl. process improvements)
- Adherent to agreed service levels, policies and procedures
- Contribute in defining and implementing internal controls; be responsible of regular execution
- Interact with external auditors
- Engage in collaboration with the business and stakeholders to develop a professional relationship
- Provide qualitative customer service; establish KPI’s to track GL and Asset Ledger performance in close alignment with the Global Process Head for GL and Asset Ledger
Qualifications
Education
- University or college degree in Economics or Finance or equivalent experience, preferable in accounting or business
- University degree
- Accounting degree, also the Hungarian National accounting certificate (Mérlegképes)
- High proficiency in the end-to-end GL and Asset process
- Experience in process automation
Work experiences – time/seniority/ sector:
- 5 – 8 years of experience in Accounting (GL and Asset Ledger)
Technical/ IT knowledge:
- Complete familiarity with SAP FI Module
- Good knowledge ofMicrosoft Office or equivalent tools
Language – with level

- Able to flag issues on time, and propose solution if possible
- Be a team player, but certainly demonstrate the seniority in working with other colleagues in the team
