Job Description


MEMX is searching for a SRE/DevOps Engineer. This position closely aligns with the responsibilities of a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), DevOps engineer with a focus on our core trading platform. The primary focus of this role is to ensure that our exchange is deployed properly and operating at optimal performance. Other responsibilities include fixing support escalation cases, either real time or during our maintenance window.

 

The team member will be part of a rotating shift to cover MEMX U.S. equities trading hours 7:00am-8:00pm EST. The ability to communicate across many different internal and external departments will be necessary.

 

Currently approved remote work states include: California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, & South Carolina.

 

Working at MEMX as a SRE/DevOps Engineer:

  • You will be part of the engineering process to administer, deploy and monitor the core trading system
  • Configure the tools that will help run and monitor our trading platform. Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, etc.
  • Use deployment orchestration tools to make day to day operations more efficient, focus on engineering
  • Collaborate with teams such as BizDev, Systems, Infrastructure and Development to engineer solutions
  • Focus on system reliability, troubleshoot system issues
  • Coding and scripting in python, bash, ansible.

Requirements

 

  • Worked in the realm of a DevOps / SRE role, with a focus on trading systems
  • Participate, contribute in everything the DevOps / SRE team does
  • Continuously learn and have the ability to meet project deadlines
  • Great verbal and communication skills
  • Can work in a very fast paced start up environment, calm and collected under pressure

 

Background

  • Networking: multicast, packet captures, routing, TCP/IP stack
  • Automation and configuration tools of deployment.
  • Experience with Linux administration. systemd, rsyslog
  • Ability to optimize tools to provide more functionality
  • Familiar with major datacenter facilities and procedures
  • Ability to work with time series databases
  • Experience with version control, CI/CD
