Job Summary
Provides support for second-level, non-routine issues relating to maintaining the local area network, computer hardware/software, and other technology-related equipment within the designated college campus assigned or as needed.
Job Duties:
• Plans, coordinates, advises, and addresses standard trouble tickets; including installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and repairing all technology-related equipment (computers, printers, copiers, projectors, smart equipment, wifi APs, VoIP phones, cell phones, security cameras, etc.)
• Monitors server performance and responds to malfunctions.
• Installs and maintains standard server-based software and lab workstations for faculty, staff, and students• Maintains hardware/software for campus computer labs; including desktop support and training for faculty, staff, and students.
• Analyzes standard end-user problems, makes recommendations, and implements solutions; including installation of software, virus removal, installation of data lines, and user account management
• Monitors network equipment and its activity related to security issues and performance (switches, circuits, bridges, etc.)
• Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
• Associate’s degree in computer technology or equivalent.
• Excellent organizational skills; high attention to detail; independent; self-motivated; able to work in a fast-paced, changing environment
• Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to communicate with many individuals at all levels throughout the internal college environment as well as external business and community partners, representing themself in a professional and courteous manner;
• Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally;
• Ability to multi-task, work under deadlines, and prioritize projects to meet deadlines with high levels of efficiency and accuracy.
• It is essential that the person serving in this capacity be proficient in all aspects of computer operation and software (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and database knowledge).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer technology or equivalent.
