Job Description
Te Whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
We seek a colleague to teach into Criminology, at undergraduate and postgraduate level, and to supervise sub-doctoral students in this field as appropriate. We seek teaching expertise in particular in one or more of these fields: punishment, prisons, restorative justice, indigenous criminology and introductory criminology.
We particularly welcome and encourage the applications of critical criminologists and related social scientists. Experience in teaching large undergraduate classes is required.
This is a fulltime (40 hours per week), up to 2 year fixed-term position.
An appointment will be made at the Lecturer level: $91,328 – $109,099.

To be considered for this position, you will have the following:
- Masters’ degree in Criminology or a related field and at least substantial progress towards a PhD in Criminology or a related field. A completed PhD is desirable.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching.
- A record of publications and applying for grants.
